Antibody control after vaccination.

Analysis day

SVA carry out serology to control the effectiveness of rabies vaccination. The analysis is normally performed on even weeks and takes three full working days. Samples must be available at SVA no later than Monday morning at 7.00 on the week of analysis and test results are then received the same Wednesday.

Materials required

The analysis is performed on serum from blood without any additive and the sample can be sent to SVA in ambient temperature.The submission form linked below is sent with the samples and the ID/microchip number must be filled in by the veterinarian/veterinary clinic.

SVA is approved for rabies vaccination control according to decision 2000/258/EC.

For international shipping, please use a courier (not postal service) as they have general import permits for blood samples. Otherwise, the samples may be withheld in customs and require additional fees for processing.

Analysis report

The report will be sent by e-mail, unless a physical copy is specifically requested.

Be aware that prior vaccination is not a guarantee for reaching the required antibody titre of 0.5 IU/ml, especially in young animals.
